Reject #4 - Quintapod Polyporalus Art Doll

Reject #4 is Quintapod Polyporalus, a small handmade felt cephalopod art doll/decoration.

TO BE CLEAR: There is nothing physically wrong with this creation, they were just "rejected" (by me) from being part of a recent exhibition in favour of some other of my handmade pieces (because they didn’t fit the colour palette/they didn’t fit my overall vision for the collection/they were just the wrong size for the display domes etc.) I’m using the term “rejects” playfully and it’s meant to be tongue in cheek, there is just something sweet about the loveable outcasts!

They are 100% hand sewn, made from mottled rust red and cream pure wool felt, plastic safety eyes, glass bead "beak", and are hand embellished with dozens of yellow seed bead "suckers" on each of its five tentacles. They are stuffed with recycled PET toy fill (made from recycled drink bottles), have some small glass stones in their base (for weight to help them remain upright), and measure approx. 10 x 9 x 7cm (small!!).

They are one of a kind, there is not, and will never be another just like them.

NOTE: This is NOT A TOY! It's a little piece of art... While they are nice to hold and touch (in fact, it is recommended that they are, on occasion!) small parts are a choking hazard, and they are too delicate for rough play. Not suitable for small children, and recommended for adult collectors...)
